Het Land is a series of images of the polder landscape in Noord-Holland, captured between 2014 and 2024.
The series describes the stern landscape, a product of nature and human effort. Where the images can not capture the wind and the wet, cold autumns or the silent heat that can hit the flat lands in the summers, they reflect the meticulously maintained land by humans constantly battling the corroding weather.
The flat lands are a sight to behold with their vast emptiness and harshness. The ever-present horizon is a stark reminder of the void and the never-ending struggle that defines this landscape.
