My photographic practice unveils the often-overlooked beauty of infrastructure woven into our contemporary landscape. Focusing on the distinctive engineered terrains of the Netherlands, I capture the utilitarian structures that define modern life, revealing the coexistence of their utility and inherent beauty. My work illuminates how systematic interventions transform natural and urban spaces into meticulously managed environments. When present, people serve as poignant elements, emphasizing scale, solitude, and the human experience within these vast, designed worlds. My images explore themes of space, alienation, and wonder, inviting viewers to recognize the quiet monumentality and unintended beauty embedded in the functional landscapes that surround us.

I live and work in Heiloo, the Netherlands. You can find more of my creative work on fromthepolder.nl.
